Throughout my long career as a Bail Bondsman, I am routinely asked; "Exactly what does a bail bondsman do?" In this latest blog post I wanted to give my readers an idea of exactly what we do as Bail Bondsman.

When a person gets arrested, the courts will will assign an amount of bail to pay in order to leave jail and be out on bail while waiting for their trail. Bail amounts differ based on the crime someone is being accused of, the circumstances surrounding the crime, previous criminal history and the judge whom is residing over the case. Depending on the amount, a person would call a bailbonds man and pay only a percentage of the bond while the Bonding company will put up the rest. The bail is technically used to gaurenttee that the defendant will reappear for all court dates.

Poating bail enables the person arrested to be released from jail while awaiting their trial. A bail bondsman may also require some type of collateral to assure that if the defendant does not return to court, they esentially forfiet the bond.

A bail bond agency will then keep a percentage of bond posted as payment for there services. It is very important to have a relationship with your bail bondsman and the bail bond agency so they can assist you through the process and answer any question that you may have. A good bondsman will also appear in court with you and coordinate their efforts with your attorney.

Getting arrested is an unfortunate situation, but with the right bail bondsman in your corner they can make the pocess easier and get you out of prison fast and back home to your loved one. Give us a call if you have any further questions in regards to our company and they way we support all of our many clients. Main Office; 929-354-1691
